Wednesday is here again, which means a new week for new comics (SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN & CREATURE FEATURE). If you are like me, you may still have a stack of comics that haven’t been read from last week, but how can anyone fault us for reading. Here is a list of books I will be picking up at my local comic shop.
SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #2 – $3.99
BOOM! Studios – Jame Tynion IV, Werther Dell,Edera, Miquel Muerto, Ian Bertram
Children are dying in the town of Archer’s Peak and the ones who survive bring back terrible stories. A strange woman named Erica Slaughter has appeared and says she fights these monsters behind the murders, but that can’t possibly be true. Monsters aren’t real… are they?
CULT CLASSICS: CREATURE FEATURE #1 – $3.99
Vault Comics – Eliot Rahal, John Bivens, Hannah Jerrie, Iris Monahan, Taylor Esposito, Tim Daniel
Eons ago, visitors from outer space buried an item of unimaginable power in the primordial swamps that would one day become King Lake-a quaint little basin on the edge of Whisper, USA. Millions of years later, a comet’s radioactive waves awaken the monster slumbering beneath the lake. As the beast feeds on America’s sweet, delicious youth, brain-slugs infect the quiet town, causing victims to vomit up their kill-hungry, zombified skeletons. But for seventeen-year-old Jarrod Parker, none of that stuff matters much. For him, this isn’t about the Apocalypse. It’s about payback. Nothing-not his friends, not the undead, not even the end of the world-will keep him from vengeance.
MIDNIGHT VISTA #2 – $3.99
Aftershock Comics – Eliot Rahal, Clara Meath, Mark Englert, Taylor Esposito, Juan Doe
It’s the news story of the century! Oliver Flores – the kid on the face of every milk carton in New Mexico – has been found.
Recovering at the hospital, Oliver is finally able to reveal where he’s been for the last nineteen years: Along with his stepfather, he was abducted by aliens. And the only real problem with that is…no one believes him. Not the detectives from his case, not the doctors who treated him, not even his biological dad. They’re all convinced Oliver is suffering from massive trauma.
Meanwhile, no one seems to notice the suspicious Strangers in Black trying to silence Oliver for good.
SUPERMANS’S PAL JIMMY OLSEN #4 – $3.99
DC Comics – Matt Fraction, Steve Lieber, Nathan Fairbairn, Clayton Cowles
Whassup, nerds? It’s yer favorite irresponsible blogger, Timmy Olsen! In this month’s episode of “Timmy’s Bros,” someone requested we get Batman to crack who moidered that Daily Planet photo-hack, Jimmy Olsen. Like how many wheels does a guy have to steal off the Batmobile to get a Bat-dude’s attention around here?
THE REALM #15 – $4.99
END OF STORY ARC! Looking to settle old scores, Ben catches up with Redjaw and Bunny. The fight you’ve been waiting for is finally here.
