From Legendary, Universal Pictures and director Zhang Yimou (House of Flying Daggers) comes the action blockbuster The Great Wall. Featuring music by Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi and loosely based on a short story World War Z author Max Brooks. Starring Matt Damon, Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe and Andy Lau. It hits theaters February 17, 2017.
The Great Wall is an American/Chinese action epic about a war against monsters in which the Great Wall of China was built as a defence system against the beasts.
The Great Wall is the most expensive movie ever filmed entirely in China with a whopping 135 million dollar budget. Fun fact – Max Brooks’ gets a credit on this one considering he wrote a short story called Great Wall, which was a companion piece to his World War Z saga and was about how the Great Wall of China was built to keep zombies out. The monsters in this trailer below are definitely NOT zombies.
