I’ve been reviewing Starfire for the last couple of months mainly because I was surprised by it. I didn’t expect the book to be bad by any means, but I also didn’t expect that I would enjoy it as much as I do. Writing duo Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti along with the art team of Emanuela Lupacchino, Ray McCarthy and Hi-Fi have created one of my favorite super hero comics that I look forward to every month and its still not too late for you to jump on board if you haven’t already done so.
So I picked up Starfire #1 Last month on a whim and like many, I didn’t really know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the new DC title. I decided I would keep this review going for at least a few issues to give people who are still unsure about the title, the ability to make the final decision if they should pick it up or not.
At the last minute in the comic shop I was looking at Starfire #1 on the shelf and thought “why the hell not?” and decided to pick it up. I was a bit sceptical of this new title after hearing the reactions to Starfire in The New 52 but I am so fond of the 2003 Teen Titans show that I figured I would give it a shot. I was so curious as to how it turned out that it was the second book of the week I read, after batman of course, and I gotta say it was actually pretty good.
