I didn’t want to see Mad Max: Fury Road. My friends who saw it raved about it (these were the same friends who liked Man of Steel) but were unable to tell me why they liked it. I pried; they talked about the great action sequences, the special effects and how nice it looked. These are not selling points to me. They assured me it had a plot. So I went just to find out what they were talking about. And I liked it, they were right. The action sequences were amazing, the special effects were fantastic and it was visually rich.
My mind is still being pieced back together after bearing witness to the masterpiece that is Mad Max Fury Road so I decided to turn back to the second film in George Miller’s post-apocalyptic franchise, The Road Warrior, because every fan had been ultimately comparing the latest flick — to that one as either being equal to, or just below it in terms of quality. I had not seen it. Ever.
In wake of the insane success of Mad Max: Fury Road comes a new game set in the Mad Max world. I typically am pretty hesitant about video games based on Hollywood blockbusters as they tend to be a cash grab riding the coattails of the movies they’re based on. But this time, I think this game is going to be as metal as the movie.
