The 2015 Lethbridge Entertainment Expo has come and gone like a nerdy tidal wave washing over the Enmax Centre in Southern Alberta. Spectacular guests like Jason Mewes (Jay & Silent Bob), Billy West (Futurama), Phil LaMarr (MAD TV), Lee Arenberg (Once Upon a Time) and Garrett Wang (Star Trek Voyager) were on hand to meet with fans and more. Check out the full lineup HERE!
[Exclusive] Jason Mewes recently attended the Lethbridge Entertainment Expo and I had the opportunity to interview the man who is known as Jay from Jay and Silent Bob – an iconic movie character beloved by millions across the world. We talked about what delayed Clerks III, what to expect from Yoga Hosers, Mallrats 2 and geeked out over The Flash because we’re both nerds at a convention when it really comes down to it.
It was my first Expo, comic-con or con of any type. I’d always meant to go to some but never really did. Until this year. When I showed up this year for the first time, I was blown away. I went to as many panels as I could and I was always blown away by how passionate these people were for their craft. I found myself taking notes and wondering how much of it applied to Life in General. Here’s what I learned:
I’ve mentioned elsewhere that I was a ‘Con newbie. I don’t really know why I never went before and was overwhelmed when I arrived. I’d just gotten out of a great couple of panels and was taking a breather when I realized I was starving. Maybe it was the sight of Keven’s poutine or maybe it was the many cups of free coffee (they had free coffee!) that I’d had, but I needed to eat right away. Luckily there was a food truck right outside with practically no line-up.
[Exclusive] During this past weekend’s Lethbridge Entertainment Expo, I got to speak with actor Phil Lamarr about the potential of a mystery project reuniting the Futurama cast, a possibility of Baxter Stockman’s return this season on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and why his Green Lantern character was so important.
[Exclusive] During this weekend’s Lethbridge Entertainment Expo, I had the opportunity to speak with one of the world’s most determined and optimistic actors – Lee Arenberg. Fans may remember him as Pintel from the original Pirates of The Caribbean trilogy or currently on the hit fantasy series Once Upon a Time as Leroy aka Grumpy the Dwarf.
[Exclusive] I caught up with voice acting icon Billy West at this year’s Lethbridge Entertainment Expo to chat about a number of interesting items, including his departure from the Howard Stern Radio Show, his new podcast, getting the Futurama gang back together for a mystery project and what he thinks of A-Listers taking voice acting jobs away from the actual talented group of people who you can all see in John Dimaggio’s fantastic “I Know That Voice” documentary.
