Elseworlds is the upcoming annual DC television crossover event series and features the debut of Ruby Rose as Batwoman! The first episode airs Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues Monday December 10 on Arrow and concludes Tuesday December 11 with Supergirl.
Kate Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman, a.k.a actress Ruby Rose will make her smallscreen debut this December during the annual CW DC Universe crossover event. The three-episode event will take viewers to Gotham City where we will meet Batwoman for the first time. Although Bruce Wayne (aka BATMAN OBVIOUSLY) has been mentioned by name in the Arrow TV series, it doesn’t look like he’ll be making an appearance anytime soon in the DC TV universe.
If the crossover goes well, and it most likely will, a Batwoman TV series is also in development to launch in 2019. The synopsis has been revealed as:
In the CW’s Batwoman, written by Caroline Dries based on the DC characters, armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.
I don’t know what Elseworlds means in terms of specific story for the TV crossover, but I do know that it was a series of DC comics in which alternate “what if” type stories were released. Because of this, the Legends of Tomorrow will not be a part of this crossover event because of the whole ‘time travel’ aspect and that would only complicate things even more if we’re dealing in alternate realities etc. I was a huge fan of the last two big crossover events, the first one featuring an alien invasion and last year’s big NAZI PLANET LOADED WITH NAZI SUPERHEROES so I’m hopeful this upcoming one will be a good time as well. Also Rose looks amazing as Batwoman – straight from the pages of the comic. They couldn’t have done a better job.
