From FOX and director James Mangold (The Wolverine) comes the third and final solo film of the franchise – Logan. The highly anticipated X-Men spin-off feature will be the final time star Hugh Jackman will portray Wolverine and also stars Patrick Stewart, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez. It hits theaters March 3, 2017.
It was officially revealed today that the final Hugh Jackman as Wolverine film will be titled ‘Logan’. Also, a script page was revealed by director James Mangold which re-affirms the movie’s R-Rating with an F-Bomb and also that Logan’s powers are not what they used to be. The poster also shows this as Logan’s arm and hand are scarred with fresh wounds (why if he has – you know – healing powers?). Logan will also turn to drinking heavily to deal with his diminishing mutant powers and when people fly out of a window – they’re dead – they ain’t hitting a pool.
Jackman teased that his final Wolverine movie would be “Old Man Logan” at last year’s SDCC. It looks like they’ll just be capturing the spirit of that acclaimed comic series as opposed to adapting the comic verbatim (which would be near impossible since it’s a post-apocalyptic tale that includes Hulk, Hawkeye and Red Skull as major characters). Mister Sinister and his “Essex Corp”, as well as The Reavers will be villains in this upcoming movie and that Logan’s clone X-23 will have a prominent role. Also – there’s a child’s hand in that poster. Speculate.
