Season 6 of Game of Thrones is upon us, with fans excited at what the latest episodes should have in store for us. The previous season saw the programme set a new record for Sky Atlantic, managing over 1.5 million views, which is why there is so much anticipation regarding the latest series. There are a lot of questions to be asked, will Jon Snow come back? Was Stannis definitely killed? What will happen with Cersei? And who will win the battle for the Iron throne? Plus, many more, but the all action style and drama that accompanies the show makes it a must watch for viewers.
The last series seemed to be talked about by everyone when Jon Snow was stabbed relentlessly and killed. Or was he? That was what got the fans talking and there have been many theories and ideas for how he could come back, with anything seemingly possible after the shock nature of how we finished the last season. That has built up the excitement for the new series, and whilst you wait for the next episode why not get on to lucky nuggets casino who have their very own Game of Thrones game, perfect if you consider yourself a fan? Meanwhile, whatever the outcome of Jon, there will still be many more talking points for viewers to get into. In the North, King Stannis army was defeated despite the red lady, Melisandre, telling him he would win before she abandoned him, which leaves viewers again presuming about Stannis but without actually knowing, leaving a sense of intrigue surrounding another character in the plot.
There are also questions involving Daenerys who was left in a bad situation when the last series ended, after escaping murder she ended up away from her kingdom with strangers and we don’t know what plans they have in store for her, will she get married? Become a slave? And who will run her lands now she is no longer there? That is just another example of the cliff hangers the show left us with.
Viewers will be well aware that there are also the Games of Thrones books, which many fans will have read, not that it matters much when it comes to the TV, as the show keeps changing from the books. However, now the books are actually up to date with the TV meaning nobody even has an inkling of what is in store for us in the new season. In the past, characters such as Rob Stark’s new wife were killed which didn’t happen in the book whilst Varys has completely different motives in the book in comparison to the TV series. This ensures aspects don’t get leaked and therefore ruined and also keeps the show’s popularity high as no one really knows what will happen next.
Now we have season 6 to look forward too, with a lot of questions that remain unanswered and a lot of twists and turns, as Games of Thrones is finally back on our screens.
