Daredevil is a Netflix exclusive Marvel Studios TV series from showrunners Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy). It stars Charlie Cox, Rosario Dawson, Jon Bernthal, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Elodie Yung and Deborah Ann Woll. Season 2 returns 2016.
Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero “Daredevil” in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
Elektra was briefly mentioned in the first season, very briefly hinted at actually, but it looks like the fan favorite will be making her debut in 2016 the same time as The Punisher Frank Castle will also be making his when Jon Bernthal steps up to the plate. Elektra is an assassin and member of The Hand, a villainous organization of ninjas that has already tried to kill Matt Murdock in season one but will likely become an even deadlier force with The Kingpin behind bars.
“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity. Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”
