Wednesday is here again, which means a new week for new comics (HEIST & STRANGE SKIES OVER EAST BERLIN). If you are like me, you may still have a stack of comics that haven’t been read from last week, but how can anyone fault us for reading. Here is a list of books I will be picking up at my local comic shop.

Like many readers I try to budget my purchases, which can become difficult when there are so many quality books being published each week. So here are 5 titles to consider picking up this week.

HEIST, OR HOW TO STEAL A PLANET #1 – $3.99

The Pan-Galactic government has no idea what to do with the planet, but conman Glane Breld and his band of thieves know exactly what to do with Heist-they’re going to steal it. It’s Ocean’s Eleven in space, brought to you by writer Paul Tobin (Colder and Bandette) and Arjuna Susini (The Replacer)-the only minds crazy enough to steal an entire world.

STRANGE SKIES OVER EAST BERLIN #2 – $3.99

BOOM! Studios – Jeff Loveness, Lisandro Estherren, Patricio Delpeche, Evan Cagle

The danger increases as Herring comes face to face with his nemesis, Keiner! Herring has infiltrated the bunker beneath East Berlin, where research on the mysterious being that fell from the sky has already begun, only to find an old enemy already inside. As the monster’s true powers begin to emerge, can Herring keep his cover disguised from Keiner long enough to discover what is truly hidden in the bunker?

UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY #1 – $3.99

In this special oversized first issue, readers will journey into the near future, and an unknown nation that was once the United States of America-a land that’s become shrouded in mystery after walling itself off from the rest of the world without explanation over thirty years ago. When a team seeking a cure for a global pandemic breaches U.S. borders, they quickly find themselves in a struggle to survive this strange and deadly lost continent!

THE ELECTRIC BLACK #3 – $3.99

Scout Comics – Joseph Schmalke, Rich Woodall

Cloven seeks the Black Ledger, an unholy tome that will grant them god-like powers. Little do they know, the sinister curiosity shop has a will of its own and doesn’t like uninvited guests. Proprietor Julius Black and his employees, June Bug and Jack, unleash the shop’s horrors upon the cult members in a night they will not live to regret!
