Wednesday is here, and new comics are within reach. So you may be like me and still have a stack of comics that haven’t been read from last week, but here is a list of new titles I will be picking up at my local comic shop.
Like many readers I try to budget my purchases, which can become difficult with the vast amount of quality books being published currently. This week is the release of DC’s Rebirth, but I have chosen to highlight five other titles you should also be picking up this week, plus a few extras for those of you who need to pick up some additional summer reading before your vacation.
Matt Kindt, Sharlene Kindt
After being stranded on the ocean floor, Mia is brought back to headquarters and leads a rescue party to bring back her missing brother. The world runs red!
Abram Adams’ former teammate ¬- the long-lost cosmonaut Myshka – has returned from deep space…and, seemingly overnight, the former Soviet Union has taken charge as the globe’s preeminent economic and military force. As the Western world grapples with the ensuing chaos and confusion of Russia’s rapid return to power, Divinity and Ninjak attempt to marshal resistance against an empire enabled by the god-like will of one of its own true believers. But nothing escapes the sight of the super-powered gods that now walk among us…and our fate will be forever decided when Myshka targets Divinity for control of our world’s destiny!
Christopher Sebela, Robert Wilson, Nick Filardi
Love means never having to say you’re sorry. Though it occasionally means having to say “Put your hands in the air, this is a stick-up.” With a crew assembled and their plans in place, it’s time for Callie and Mercer to take the biggest step of any relationship: stealing a few hundred thousand dollars from a crooked insurance company that holds the pink-slip on their heart.
Joshua Williamson, Carmine Di Giandomenico, Ivan Plascencia, Steve Wands, Karl Kerschl

A new storm brews over Central City and disproves the old adage about lightning never, well…you know. Just as Barry begins to feel overwhelmed fighting crime, a new speedster debuts-but just where did this amazing new friend come from?
FLASH FACT: “2016 is the 60th anniversary of Barry Allen becoming The Flash and it’s a privilege to be a part of it,” says writer Joshua Williamson. “‘The Return of Barry Allen’ in FLASH #79 is one of my favorite comics of all time. It’s where I became a Flash fan for life.”
Greg Rucka, Liam Sharp, Laura Martin, Jodi Wynne
“THE LIES” chapter one
Why has the lasso of truth stopped working for the Amazon Princess? Start down the rabbit hole as dark secrets from Wonder Woman’s past unravel her present!
THEY SAID IT: “Drawing Wonder Woman isn’t just drawing a comic, it’s drawing an icon-the most famous and recognizable female superhero in the world,” exclaims artist Liam Sharp. “To get to draw her in her 75th year, with a new storyline scribed by no less than Greg Rucka, makes this without doubt the most important drawing gig of my 30 years in comics.”
