From Sony, director Nikolaj Arcel and based on the acclaimed series of novels by Stephen King comes The Dark Tower. Starring Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Jackie Earle Haley, Katheryn Winnick, Abbey Lee, Fran Kranz, Jake Chambers and Claudia Kiim the film is scheduled to hit theaters July 28, 2017.
We have our first poster and at first glance — I didn’t like it… Then fellow writer Sean did this (see below) to the image and now I really, really dig it.
That’s some badass marketing by Sony right there. As you can see, when the image is inverted, the infamous Dark Tower is clearly visible in the flipped cityscape (yes — I didn’t notice it without the color swap initially – shut up). Now if only we could see some damn footage – a trailer – anything. The film is nearly upon us and we’ve yet to see a teaser which is worrying because it means they aren’t sure how to market a preview to audiences so close to the wide release.
