Hope Springs Eternal for DC Movies with Justice League (Review)

Hope Springs Eternal for DC Movies with Justice League (Review)

The road to Justice League, which brings together some of DC Comics’ most iconic superheroes, has not been without its share of debate or controversy. Up until this summer’s crowd-pleasing Wonder Woman, the three previous entries in the DC Extended Universe (which include Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad) were hotly debated amongst both fans and critics for their movie’s storytelling decisions and character developments that showed DC Comics’ characters in different lights. While each of them was a box office success, it was apparent that it wasn’t enough to win over audiences. Fast forward to today and Justice League is viewed as a course correction for Warner Brothers’ DCEU going forward. While Justice League certainly has its issues and isn’t exactly coherent at times, each of the movie’s superhero characters are more than satisfying and help make the superhero team up an enjoyable action romp.

Top 10 Underrated & Incredible Movie Music Moments from The Devil’s Rejects to Spring Breakers

Top 10 Underrated & Incredible Movie Music Moments from The Devil’s Rejects to Spring Breakers

The greatest movie music moment of all time is the torture scene in Reservoir Dogs, when Michael Madsen lops a poor dude’s ear off to ‘Stuck in The Middle With You’ by Steeler’s Wheel. Director Quentin Tarantino is in my humble opinion the greatest director in the history of film when it comes to picking soundtracks for his movies. Noone picks a better song, for a better moment than Tarantino. Because of this however, he isn’t on this list (much) because the world knows and realises just how incredible he is. These are the Top 10 Most Underrated and Incredible Movie Music Moments, featuring films like Spring Breakers, The Devil’s Rejects, Southland Tales, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World and more! Read more

Suicide Squad: Summer’s Biggest Disappointment is Saved by a Tremendous Cast [Review]

Suicide Squad: Summer’s Biggest Disappointment is Saved by a Tremendous Cast [Review]

Suicide Squad is being released at a critical time. For Hollywood, summer has scorched movie studios with an inconceivable amount of dull, worthless movies that fall into the category of “financial flops.” And for Warner Brothers, because of below expectation numbers back in March for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the microscope on Suicide Squad has intensified immensely. After months of buildup thanks to a strong marketing campaign, David Ayer’s (End of Watch) movie centering around the “Worst Heroes Ever” is finally here. Suicide Squad has problems that keep it from being a memorable. But nonetheless, it’s a somewhat delightful oddball comic book movie, thanks to a cast full of great characters. Read more

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice – The ‘Anti-Hobbit’ A Trilogy Packed into One Movie [Review]

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice – The ‘Anti-Hobbit’ A Trilogy Packed into One Movie [Review]

I’ve been sick of superhero movies for a while now, hype or no hype.  There’s just been so many.  I remember this happened with vampire movies and also zombie movies – not long after they get popular there’s a giant glut of the things.  Then someone comes along to reinvent it and gets blamed for the whole thing tanking.  The genre is ripe; I bet the Stephanie Meyers of superhero movies is busy making a genre-killer as we speak.  Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is probably not said genre-killer, but it is definitely a warning sign that one is coming.
