Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials – A Mediocre Sequel with Slick Visuals But Not Much to Say [Review]

There must be something freeing about writing a post apocalypse movie.   Things are simpler.  Freer.  You wouldn’t have to worry about traffic cams, or being broke, or having a job.  Relationships, too, are largely uncomplicated – there’s good guys and bad guys and it’s pretty easy most of the time to tell them apart.   The world of Maze Runner:  Scorch Trials has had not one but two apocalypses (apocalypse?) – the sun has burned most of the land to desert and there’s been a deadly virus to boot.

New Trailer for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials Packs More Action & Flare Diseased Cranks

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is the sequel to the hit first film The Maze Runner (adapted from the novels by James Dashner) from director by Wes Ball. It stars  Dylan O’Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Patricia Clarkson, Rosa Salazar, Aidan Gillen and Giancarlo Esposito. The film is set for release September 19, 2015.
