Long Shot is 2019’s first comedy hit. Not only is it a hit in 2019, but it’ll go down as one of the best comedies of the 2000s. Overall, it is a pleasant surprise that’ll make you cry from laughing in one scene, and then be surprisingly touching in another. Fate of the Furious: Latest Entry Shifts the Franchise into Neutral [Review]

It’s hard not to watch The Fate of the Furious and think about the void left by Paul Walker, who played one of the two main characters in the Fast & Furious franchise until his tragic death in 2013. Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, was given a proper sendoff in Furious 7, which paid great tribute to the beloved actor and his place in the NOS-infused series. After seeing Furious 7, I figured this was not only a near-perfect way to end the story of Walker’s character, but also to end the franchise with the remaining characters in play. But being that the franchise continues to make money, another sequel was inevitable. Fast forward three years from Furious 7 and we now have The Fate of the Furious. While the latest entry offers a number of impressive, physics-defying action sequences and some good laughs, as a whole, none of it pushes the franchise either forward or in reverse, making The Fate of the Furious just “okay.”

The Huntsman Winter’s War: The Trailer is a Cinematic Masterpiece. The Film was 113 Minutes Too Long [Review]

At first I didn’t like The Huntsman: Winter’s War.  Then, as I kept watching, it seemed to find its footing a bit and I began to see that there was a great movie in here, struggling to get out.  What’s more, I had this nagging feeling that I’d seen this great movie before.  Near the end of the movie, I realized where I’d seen it – in the trailer.  At 2 minutes, 30 seconds, the trailer for The Huntsman, Winter’s War, was a gorgeous cinematic masterpiece.  What I saw this afternoon was the same film except it was 113 minutes too long.
