From the BBC TWO and creator Steven Knight comes the period crime drama Peaky Blinders. Starring Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Joe Cole, Finn Cole, Sophie Rundle and Tom Hardy, the series is currently airing it’s third series.
A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, England and centered on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby, who means to move up in the world.
The BBC TWO announced today that their hit drama Peaky Blinders will be back for a fourth AND fifth series. Creator Steven Knight will be penning every single episode on the horizon, which is wonderful news. “I am genuinely thrilled at the response to the third series of the show. The prospect of writing series four and five is truly exciting,” said Knight, “This is a real passion project for me and I look forward to telling more stories of the Shelby family.”
“Tommy Shelby is one of the most intense, challenging characters I’ve had the opportunity to play. I’m particularly grateful that Steven’s original, dynamic writing and the long form series allow me to explore Tommy in depth. I very much look forward to Tommy’s evolution over the next two chapters.” said Cillian Murphy.
