From Warner Bros. Pictures and writer/director Christopher Nolan comes the true story war film Dunkirk. Starring Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Aneurin Barnard, Harry Styles, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, James D’Arcy and Tom Hardy. The film which was shot with IMAX cameras will open theatrically on July 21, 2017.
“Dunkirk” opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.
I’m burnt out on Christopher Nolan’s work lately. I didn’t bother with Interstellar because it was three hours long and The Dark Knight Rises was also needlessly bloated. If anything I’m excited to see Nolan move away from Sci-Fi and his films all look stunning regardless of the theme, so a war feature may get me back on his side. Especially one that looks this damn pretty (in a horrifying kind of way).
