This week I went to see Transformers: The Last Knight.  It’s not a movie I would go to on my own but I had to review something.  It looked so bad, the fifth instalment of a series where the first movie wasn’t even that great.  I was looking forward to roasting it.  But I have to tell you, I liked it.  In the same way I liked Gods of Egypt, and for the same reasons: I liked the special effects and it was full of handsome men.  Or in this case, man.  Fair warning- this review features heavily my celebrity crush on Mark Wahlberg.  This is one of those movies that relies completely on its visual effects and fast action.  It is the very definition of a summer blockbuster. Edgar Wright’s unique directing style shines in Baby Driver, definitely his most ambitious movie to date. It is the best movie of the year so far, hands down. From adrenaline fueled car chases to great character development and funny scenes, Baby Driver has it all. It’s like a mix of La La Land (2016) and Drive (2011).
